2020 Season

  • Team training starting January 2020 (2 baseball sessions per week and one conditioning session per week) 
  • Regular Season – 1 May 2020 to 7 September 2020
  • Provincial championships will be on Labour Day weekend, location to be determined

Roster Size

  • Plan to take a maximum 14 players so that we will have the pitching to play deep into tournaments and to allow for vacations


  • May to September season and set schedule will allow for some flexibility for families to plan summer vacation


  • 60 foot pitching/90 foot bases
  • Pinecrest Senior, RCGT Park, McCarthy Park, Brewer


  • Wood bats only
  • Players purchase their own bats so they can select the right size, weight, and wood – coaches will assist
  • May be able to purchase a team package to save money


  • Winter skills – 1-2 days per week focusing on team skills, pitching velocity and hitting power 
  • Team strength and conditioning – 1 day per week 
  • Encourage playing other sports in the off-season
  • Regular season – EOBA Rep League 24 games against OBA teams from NCOBA and EOBA towards Whitby/Ajax area plus Peterborough – league games will be mostly double headers on weekends and will try to reduce personal costs with more local games
  • 3 in-season tournaments plus one season ending and provincials, if qualify – if no playoff, may add another tournament
  • Exploring out of province exchange to Alberta next summer

Budget (Estimate only, TBC after team formation)

  • Cost is $1500 per player, but expect to offset at least $300 through team sponsorship and fundraising
  • $450 payable on accepting a spot, with $150 monthly for the next 5 months if opting not to pay all at once
  • What’s included – uniforms and team gear, Winter Skills, fields, umpires, and equipment (balls, NO catcher’s gear)
  • Entirely cost recovery – no profit. Coaches will have uniforms paid for and non-parent coaches will also have some minor travel expenses
  • Fundraising – every player should be able to play if they want to – we will fundraise to reduce everyone’s cost similar to this year
  • Sponsorship – 75% of the sponsorship goes to the team and 25% goes directly to the player who obtained it
